Connecting New Mexico youth, their families and communities to IFAA’s global community and learning opportunities.
Each year IFAA reaches out to underserved communities in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico through a wide range of programs and activities.
Folk Art & Social Entrepreneurship Education: IFAA provides folk art and social entrepreneurship education through a new curriculum and hands-on activities in schools and through local community organizations in the summer, including Santa Fe Public Schools, The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Fe and Girls Inc. IFAA also distributes 1,000 complimentary tickets to teens and their families, connecting participants directly to the artists in the Market. Children 16 and under get free admission to the Market each year and do not need tickets.
Community & Family Day at the Market, Sunday, July 16th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Museum Hill: Sunday at the International Folk Art Market is Community and Family Day In addition, IFAA gives 500 tickets for Family Day to teachers, along with packets designed around ideas on how to integrate Market themes into their curricula.
Community Celebration on the Historic Santa Fe Plaza, July 13th, 6 p.m.: IFAA produces the annual Community Celebration, featuring a procession of Market artists, artists’ demonstrations and international music. It is attended by an estimated 7000 people.
